Shop downloads and design software exports often arrive as a ZIP full of formats: PES, DST, JEF, VIP, EXP, and more.
When that ZIP lands in EEganizer, it can feel like "too many files." You only need the one (or few) your embroidery machine reads.
This page explains how a Design Pod holds many formats, how ZIPs unzip for you, and how to pick the right file for your USB stick.
Overview
1. One Design Pod can hold many machine formats for the same design.
2. ZIP uploads are automatically unzipped.
3. Download only the format your machine needs (PES, DST, JEF, and so on).
4. You do not need every format on your USB.
5. Optional: use Select File Format(s) on upload if you want to skip formats you never use.
One design, many formats, one Design Pod
A Design Pod is the home for one design: its files, tags, notes, and thumbnail.
Shops and programs such as Embrilliance-style exporters often give you several machine files plus a picture. That is normal.
EEganizer keeps those files together in one Design Pod so you can:
- See the design once in your Library
- Open Details and choose the format you need
- Download that file to your computer, then copy it to USB

ZIP files unzip automatically
You can upload a single ZIP or a folder of ZIP files.
EEganizer automatically extracts them. You do not need to unzip on your computer first (unless you prefer to).
Limits to keep in mind:
- 50 MB per file
- Up to 12,000 files per upload
- All file types can upload and store

Pick the format your machine uses
Common machine formats include PES, DST, JEF, VIP, VP3, EXP, HUS, XXX, and others.
Steps:
1. Open the Design Pod in your Library.
2. Look at the file list in Design Pod Details.
3. Find the extension your machine manual or dealer recommends (for example, .PES for many Brother/Babylock machines, .JEF for many Janome machines, .DST for many commercial setups).
4. Click the green Download button next to that file.
5. Copy only that file to your USB stick (or the path your machine expects).
You do not need to put every format from the Design Pod onto the USB. Extra formats just take space and can make the stick harder to browse at the machine.
If you are not sure which extension your machine wants, check the machine's manual or the format list from the shop where you bought the design.

Tip: Select File Formats on upload
During upload Step 1, you can open Select File Format(s) and include or exclude extensions before the files go into your library.
Use this when a shop ZIP always includes formats you never stitch (for example, you only ever need PES).
You can still keep every format if you like. Many stitchers do, so they can share or move machines later. The choice is yours.
